Navigation Overview

Primer was generally designed with some core values:

  • Feature clean, visually appealing layouts

  • Provide users with multiple ways of working

  • Accomplish both while avoiding feature bloat, having data hidden behind little used tabs, or relying on confusing methods of accomplishing tasks

  • Finally, make your data highly searchable to facilitate business analysis

The articles on Navigation will show you how to quickly get around Primer's pages while giving you a look at our two main layouts: lists of multiple records and individual pages featuring one artwork/contact/sale/exhibition/etc.

Our Finds articles will reveal our many shortcuts and tools for quickly accessing data as well as our extensive capability to search deep and creatively within your database. We hope these tools will encourage you to actively use your contact list, more quickly organize exhibitions, more thoroughly track your artworks, and accomplish all these tasks in time efficient ways.

As with any database or CRM (client relationship manager), the more you give it, the more it can give back. We hope you will rely on Primer daily to be your assistant, your archivist, and your researcher. Each time you come into contact with a client, a curator, an artwork, or perform any business action, if you quickly log into Primer, these valuable bits information and activities will become protected in your records and may allow for more interesting and profitable results later.
